FREE TO FLY by Diane Achilles

My precious little dragonfly

Your tiny wings shimmer in light

As you dance into the sky

Free to fly, free to fly

My precious little angel

Your wings whisper in flight

"I'm okay, I'm alright"

Is your message to me this night.

My precious gift from God above

You fill my heart with so much love

You are free now like a dove

Free to fly, free to fly

Lay your head upon My chest

I'll give you peace, I'll give your rest

Close your eyes, you've done your best

Free to fly, free to fly.

On the Wings ...by Julia Gaunt
On the wings of a dove,
She rose over and above,
We weep and we smile
We are gathered with love...
We imagine her spirit to fly,
Wings catching the wind
Into the sky,
Climbing up and away
Forever so high...
Both with tears and laughter
We say our good buy.

The Final Flight

Dry your eyes and look above
Soon you will see a pure white dove.

I ask for a moment,
Before setting her free,
To hear these words and think of me.

As your precious days on this earth go by,
Don't be afraid to love
Don't be afraid to cry.
Even though I am gone from sight,
Remember,
It was only my body
That couldn't take flight.

DOVE STORY  by Carol Davis

In a beautiful place on a clear day,  a small white dove spread her brilliant wings in a fresh morning breeze and sailed into the open sky.

We watch her glide away magnificently through the deep blue and gradually see her grow smaller and smaller as she nears the horizon.

Finally,  she slips silently from sight; and someone near me says,
"She's gone!"

Gone where? Gone from sight is all.

She is still strong and brilliant, still just as able to bear her load and make her way. And we can be sure that just as we say
"She's gone!"
Another says,
"There! Here she comes!"

Wings by C. David Hay
Oh, to catch the winds of flight, and soar where eagles go,To leave
the woes of troubled souls, behind me far below,I’d listen to the
song of doves, and sail in endless flight,Then chase the sun
through cloudy paths, and play with stars at night. The boundless
heavens for my home, the breeze to lift me high,To rise my mortal
bonds and never truly die.Knowing I had found the way, to trails where angels
trod,And when my wings could fly no more, I’d take the hand of God.

THE ESCORT

If I must leave this world today, please find a dove to show me the way.
For the sky has its eternal space,Find me a dove who knows this place.
Let her fly,and circle free. Look close behind her and you might see me.
We will depart at Heaven's door where I will find peace forever more.
If I must leave this world today, find me a dove to show me the way
